Simpsons

The Simpsons is an animated sitcom broadcast by the Fox Broadcasting Company in America. The Simpsons, created by Matt Groening, features a working class lifestyle with a touch of satire, epitomized by the family with the same name. The Simpsons comprise of Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie. The show is set in Springfield and showcases several elements of the human condition. The Simpsons’s executive producers are Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, Al Jean, Matt Selman and Ian Maxtone-Graham.

Groening conceived the family with the concept of animated shorts. This dysfunctional family represents the names of Groening’s own family, except that he substituted Bart instead of his own name. The shorts were featured in 1987 on the Tracy Ullman Show. The season, thereafter, was developed at the end of its third season into a prime time show. This animated sitcom became a hit for Fox and landed into the Top 30 ratings for the first time as a Fox series.

Since the Simpsons debuted on 17th December 1989, the show has been renewed for a 23rd season, bringing the total number of episodes to an incredible 515! The Simpsons remains the longest running animated comedy in television. The Simpsons continue to be America’s favorite family and entertain with their outlandish adventures. The Simpsons also features a number of guest stars including Paul Rudd, Halle Berry, Rachel Weisz, Ricky Gervais, Martha Stewart, Kristen Wiig and Joe Mantegna. The Simpsons captured the heart of the Americans 20 years ago, when it poked fun at everything including itself. This show is centered on delightful wit and subversive humor.

The Simpsons has won several awards including, 27 Annie Awards, 27 Primetime Emmy Awards and Peabody Awards. Groening first formulated the idea for his show to present it as a Life In hell TV series. However, that would mean that Groening would have to rescind the publication rights, so he selected another approach and created a dysfunctional family instead. The Klasky Csupo Company was originally creating the animated sequences, which led to the beginning of a new found relationship between the Simpson’s characters and Klasky Csupo. Gyorgyi Peluce, a colorist decided that the characters be made yellow and the Klasky Csupo team soon became a well known animation house. The prime half-hour show premiered on 17th December 1989 with a Christmas Special.
