Fox Movies is the movie network of the 20th Century Fox, one of the world’s top movie production outfits. It provides a broad range of movie titles for the entire family, and the collection ranges from the most recent movies to the all-time best classics. It boasts of an enviable legacy of unparalleled movie making that spans more than 70 years. There are a lot to choose from whether you want a tearjerker, suspense thriller, sci-fi or a funny bone tickler. Fox Movies is available for free in North America and the Middle East, while it is offered in Japan as a paid entertainment service. To date, Fox Movies has over 50 million subscribers.

Fox Movie Channel, which was formally launched in 1994, was originally known as fXM – Movies from Fox. The name change was made on March 1, 2000. Turner Classic Movies was the original direct competitor of Fox Movie Channel and their initial line-up consists mostly of old classic films by 20th Century Fox.

The movies featured in Fox Movies are the uncut versions and are free of commercial gaps. The selection consists of movie releases from the 90s and movies produced primarily for TV. Widescreen movie versions are also shown if such versions of the movies are available. Most of the older Fox movies are beamed during daytime, while the newer movies are beamed during evening primetime. In addition to this, Fox Movies also feature regular commentaries about selected films and actors. The original programming of Fox Movies gives us a great opportunity to see how movies are made. It also gives us an insightful look at the people behind those Fox movies. With the unprecedented access to Fox Movie, viewers can now enjoy a studio-wide entertainment treat in one single channel.

Fox Legacy serves as the medium by which interesting and insightful events behind the scene are showcased. Film buffs and students will definitely find the featured programs in “Life After Film School” useful.  On the other hand, “Making a Scene” chronicles the process and tasks that went into the shooting of a pivotal or major scene in a particular Fox movie or TV show. Tava Smiley hosts “World Premiere,” a Fox Movie program about the elegant red carpet premieres of the Fox Broadcasting Company, FX, Fox Searchlight and 20th Century Fox.

On the Fox Movie channel’s “In Characters,” viewers will get to hear from the actor themselves how they internalize the roles that they portray in Fox movies. On the other hand, “Casting Session” takes viewers into a rollercoaster ride as they get to see how the casting is done in a Fox movie or TV.
